Why Choose Our Photocell Over the Original?

Our photocell delivers better quality at a lower price:

  • Lower price — costs significantly less than the generic one
  • Premium components — high-quality infrared receivers by Osram
  • Intelligent algorithmAdvanced Autotune Calibration for superior performance in real-world conditions
  • 24-month warranty

Advanced Autotune Calibration Algorithm

Original Necta photocells have a fixed sensitivity threshold — set once in the factory and never changed. In real-world use, this quickly becomes a problem:

  • transmitter diodes weaken over time (burn out) → the infrared beam becomes too weak (the most common failure in the left/transmitter photocell)
  • dust, dirt, and spilled liquids in the dispenser area interfere with the reading
  • strong daylight (which also contains infrared) “blinds” the sensor

Result? The photocell system disables itself and you lose control over correct product dispensing.

We went one step further.
Instead of a rigid threshold, we developed the Advanced Autotune Calibration algorithm. The photocell automatically calibrates itself to current conditions — it measures the actual beam strength, compensates for diode wear and contamination. Thanks to this:

  • it works reliably even with a heavily worn transmitter (left) photocell
  • it flawlessly detects small items (e.g. candy, small chocolate bar)
  • it eliminates randomness — every sale is reliable, no false refunds

How to spot a cheap replacement and avoid getting ripped off

We tested most aftermarket replacements available on the market. Almost all have serious design flaws:

  • no protective coating → they start corroding after the first spilled cola in the delivery bin
  • much slower barrier scanning (original: 160 µs; cheap copies: often 1–2 ms and more)
  • random detection of small products → customer gets the item + money back

Classic symptom of a poor replacement

You vend a small item → sometimes it works fine, sometimes the machine doesn’t see the falling product and refunds the money. This is not a fault — it’s simply poor design that can’t keep up.

Our right photocell scans at exactly the same speed as the original Necta — 16 line pairs in 160 µs. A falling coin? Always detected.

How to distinguish right vs left photocell?

The right photocell has two connectors:

  • smaller one – connected to the machine’s control board
  • larger one – connecting it to the left photocell

The left photocell has only one connector.

Can I replace only one side?

Yes – absolutely.
