Product Description
The VNX SETUP TOOL allows you to fully utilise the advanced configuration options of VNX GEN1 modules. Thanks to the built-in terminal service, you can easily change the factory settings of the module to match your exact needs.
The most frequently adjusted parameter is the torque limit (the force at which the drive stops). You can increase it when the blind moves with more resistance than usual, or decrease it when the blind moves too freely and you want to reduce tension on the shutter elements.
Using the VNX SETUP TOOL
The tool is used whenever you want to change the default settings. You can independently set the torque limit for the up direction and the down direction.
Hardware
We believe in simple, reliable and open solutions. The VNX SETUP TOOL is based on the widely used FTDI FT232 USB-UART 5V converter. Detailed connection instructions and pinout are included in the manual.
Software
No paid software is required. You only need a free terminal application:
- Windows – PuTTY (most popular)
- Linux – Minicom
- Android – USB Serial Console
Drivers for the FTDI chip are freely available for all major operating systems.
We recommend downloading the detailed VNX SETUP TOOL instructions, which contain a step-by-step guide on how to connect the tool and configure the module.
